We are born unique

I've been contemplating the words "unique" and "special" and feel the urge to share my perspective about this. First off, these words are synonyms and can be used interchangeably. Isn't it funny to think that you could be "unique" but not "special"?

Other synonyms for "unique" are: weird, extraordinary, rare, uncommon, exceptional, exclusive. To get a better feel for what "unique" could mean, let's look at words that convey the opposite meaning: normal, ordinary, regular, usual, common, familiar.

What difference does any of this make? You may wonder. Well, let me tell you what I think about this. I think either every single person is "special" or absolutely no one is. No two people are exactly the same, which makes ever single one of us unique or special, and that's the whole point of being in this physical reality as a focused aspect of the ONE source energy.

The interesting thing here is that so many people are working really hard at trying to be "special", which paradoxically tends to make them very normal. You were born with an entirely different perspective from any other person. No two people see anything from the exact same angle or through the exact same meanings or interpretations (physically, mentally, or emotionally). It's not physically possible to have the exact same experience as another person, even if you're standing side-by-side and having the exact same thing happen. Think about this. Really contemplate it until you grasp this concept.

When you really understand how unique and special you are by virtue of being alive in this human experience, it can become easier to recognize your purpose in life is to simply be yourself with no need to try to be "special" because you innately are. Imagine a planet of people who simply know their innate value and worthiness and have no desire to prove themselves superior to anyone else, yet are inspired to learn about what excites them and bring that knowledge and wisdom in service to all. Imagine the collaboration that could happen as each person brings their unique perception and talents to the situations that they are best suited for, rather than feeling forced to fit into a system that forces conformity. Imagine a world where people are more compassionate and loving and willing to care for and offer support, not for any other reason than because they have the ability to do so and a reverence for all life.

Am I an idealist? Maybe, but if I'm going to envision, imagine and dream, I'm going big. If you made it all the way to the end of this ponderance, I appreciate you taking the time to read and get a little view inside my mind. By the way, I think you're perfect exactly as you are, perfectly imperfect and unique, exactly as you are meant to be. I hope you can see yourself with love and compassion and recognize your own worth and contribution to existence.
